Trying Healthy Treats

I have a sweet tooth and have been looking for some healthier alternatives to satisfy treat cravings! The real test is my husband’s opinion as he is not a fan of things tasting overly ‘healthy’.

The below were purchased from Holland & Barrett and online at Ocado for a total spend of about £15.00.

Doisy & Dam
Date + Hymalayan Pink Salt

My verdict : This is one of those treats that contains both milk powder and cane sugar so if you prefer not to include these in your diet then this won’t be for you however it is DELICIOUS. The small chunks of date adds a gooey caramel flavour which is brought out by the himalayan salt. The majority of the ingredients are organic (The only non organic ingredient is the salt). This choc is pretty high in calories so is a good occasional treat. For those who struggle with opening a bar and not finishing it (I’m talking about myself) then you can also purchase 40g bars.

Matt’s verdict : Liked the high quality flavour of the milk choc.DD choc 3DD choc2

Livia’s Kitchen
Raw Millionaire Bites

My verdict : This is incredible. I’ve seen these before but due to the £4.99 had never bought them but boy will I now. Although the price is high you get quite a few in the tub band they are super sweet and filling so satisfy sweet cravings and are the perfect treat with a cup of tea. These bad boys contain no dairy, refined sugar or gluten and are literally heaven. I’m looking forward to trying the other flavours!

Matt’s verdict : These look really good. The date caramel layer is really thick and the shortbread is delicious.

Cocoa + Raspberry Posh Bits

My verdict : I added a point because the heart shaped bites are too cute! The raspberry flavour is good and they are raw, contain no dairy, refined sugar or gluten however they do have that ‘healthy’ taste which means when you are craving something sweet they might not be your first choice. They are however the perfect travel snack for lunch time or an afternoon pick me up.

Matt’s verdict: Tastes too healthy for me.

Panda Liquorice
Raspberry flavour / Blueberry flavour

My verdict : I used to eat these when I was little. My mum was into natural treats (which is maybe why I am too!). The Raspberry flavour is my favourite. The blueberry wasn’t as fruity. These Panda bars are sweetened with molasses syrup and are vegan friendly. The do however contain wheat flour so not good for those who do not eat gluten.

Matt’s verdict : I don’t like liquorice so didn’t enjoy the blueberry but the raspberry had a nice flavour and not too strong.

Free From Fellows
Cola Bottles / Gummy Bears

My verdict : These products taste like the real deal if not better because the cola flavour doesn’t have an artificial overly sweet taste and the gummy bears have a really fruity taste . They are quite chewy which is great plus they’re refined sugar, gluten and vegan. I LOVE that these don’t contain gelatine because sometimes you want ‘proper’ sweets and these look and taste like a real treat.

Matt’s verdict : Yes. These are amazing
