Dinner party: Borough Market

shopping list2This weekend I am doing a little dinner party for Matt (husband/sous chef) my cousin and her boyfriend. We take in turns to cook for each other and host the evening which normally ends in an overly competitive, drink fuelled board game.

In preparation I took a trip to Borough Market to find some ingredients and inspiration for tomorrow’s feast. We have a communal favourite butchers where the quality and taste is amazing (I’ve written about the Ginger Pig before) So I started there to find the main event and decided on an organic chicken which needs to be slowly roasted for 2 1/2 hours. The food at Borough market is really great and so gorgeously displayed I visit quite often but never take my camera as usually I’m on a grocery based mission. As well as produce from farms here in the UK there are a great selection of French cheeses and seasonal veg with lots of free tasters!

Phase 1 is complete, now to cook!

It’s a sous chef’s job to clean the kitchen in preparation right?!!
