I really like pre-collections, for me, they are, a) easier to imagine in your wardrobe and b) presented without the theatrics of their catwalk counterparts. Don’t get me wrong – I love the runway but these simpler lookbook style presentations tell a design story in a still shoot.
1. Stella McCartney: Proving that aliens and robots are not just for 10 year old boys, Stella McCartney’s pre-collection is the ultimate in transformer-chic and I anticipate will be a trend in itself on the high-street (Image above).
Inspired by Kew gardens, the collection balances chalky pastels with natural greens and introduces new bags such as the Blossom and Darcie bags.
Already making waves, this dress is a buyers delight. Reminiscent of the YSL ‘Mondrian’ day dress, the modish shift features playful, crayon-like illustrations in bright primary colours. (Proof that the best artists don’t always colour between the lines!)
4. Adeam Resort
Feminine silhouette meets futuristic fabrication in Adeam’s second resort collection. Organically graphic prints and metallic detailing add texture to modern, minimalist design. (One of my personal faves!)
